What is the name and location of the wildfires?
As of October 6, 2025, the Rattlesnake Fire is nearly contained on the Colville Reservation in Ferry and Lincoln Counties in Washington State. The fire is located near Ninemile Hellgate Road and George Creek, north of Lincoln, along the Columbia River and is burning on the Colville Reservation (1). It has burned 21,845 acres (2).
The difficult terrain and proximity to the river and surrounding forests, including areas near Carson Mountain, pose challenges for firefighters working to contain the fire.
A second smaller fire on the Colville Mountain, the Lynx Mountain Fire, is burning north of North Twin Lake. It has burned 9,226 acres (3).
Both fires are nearing full containment.

Firefighters are actively working to improve fire lines, especially along the Columbia River and the northwest side of the fire. Crews are using dozers and aviation support to establish control lines and prevent further spread. While progress is being made, shifting winds and dry conditions continue to pose challenges, and perimeter growth remains possible depending on weather and fire behavior.
