The fire is situated northeast of Phillips Park Tank in Hilltop, approximately 30 miles northeast of the community of San Carlos, and is moving eastward through brushy, steep terrain (1).

This wildfire is one of two major blazes in the region, occurring less than 10 miles from the Indian Creek Fire.
