The Electric Vehicle Council of Ottawa (EVCO) is dedicated to promoting the rapid transition to electric vehicles as a transportation alternative that is ecological, economical, practical, and available today. We believe that electric cars are: - An better alternative to gasoline-powered cars, necessary in order to rapidly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. - Ecologically friendly with no tail-pipe emissions contributing to poor urban air quality. - Economical and more practical to operate with lower energy, lower repair costs, convenient at home charging, and numerous other benefits not possible with current fossil-burning vehicles.
