What are the badges on the profile?
Contributor badges are virtual achievements that recognize contributors’ progress and milestones. Badges may be awarded for publishing stations, growing your followers, keeping stations online, and being the first contributor to publish in a city or country.
This article explains how badges work, when they are updated, where you can see them, and what each badge status means.
How badges are awarded
Badge eligibility is reviewed monthly using contributor and station data. This monthly review helps keep badge results stable and prevents short-term issues, such as temporary station downtime, from causing frequent badge changes.
Some badges have multiple levels. When you reach a higher achievement tier, your badge level may increase after the next monthly review. You will receive an email notification after the monthly review if you obtain a new badge or reach a new level of an existing badge.
Badge types, levels and requirements
- Multi-Station: Awarded when you publish more than one station. Higher levels are unlocked by publishing more stations.
- Followers Favorite: Awarded as your station follower count grows. Sharing your station and gaining more followers can help you progress to higher levels.
- Veteran Contributor: Awarded based on how long you have continued operating your station, starting from the year your first station was published.
- 99% Up-time: Awarded monthly when your station maintains an uptime of 99% or higher.
- City Pioneer: Awarded when you publish the first station in a city that does not currently have any published stations.
- Country Pioneer: Awarded when you publish the first station in a country that does not currently have any published stations.

Understanding badge statuses
- Obtained: You met the badge requirement and earned the badge.
- Unobtained: You have not earned the badge yet, but it may still be available to achieve.
- Missed: Applicable for the 99% uptime badge. You did not meet the requirement for the specific month.
Where badges appear
-
Public profile: All the badges you have obtained will be displayed.
- Private profile view: In addition to the badges you have already obtained, you can also view the unobtained badges and the badges you have missed (if applicable).
