About

The Organization Act of the Ministry of Environment was promulgated by Presidential Decree on May 24, 2023. Hence, the Environmental Protection Administration, Executive Yuan was restructured into the Ministry of Environment and four tertiary agencies, namely, the Climate Change Administration, the Resource Circulation Administration, the Chemicals Administration, and the Environmental Management Administration were established, along with the National Environmental Research Academy. In response to the international trend towards net-zero emissions and other global environmental changes, the government has changed its approach from "management of natural resources" to "actively responding to the global environmental situation and creating opportunities for Taiwan's transformation". This involves integrating expanded authority and systematically dealing with climate change, resource recycling, chemical substance management, management of environmental quality, and strengthening of environmental research.
