This also applies to the appearance of a product or its packaging (referred to as “trade dress”), including:
- appearance (such as on a website or in a retail store)
Use the relevant ™, ℠, or ® symbol on first use of a mark in a publication that will be distributed in the United States ONLY.
Publishing outside the United States? Use the relevant trademark attribution notice instead of trademark symbols.
Here’s an example:
HyperHEPA and HealthPro Plus are trademarks of IQAir AG., registered in the U.S. and other countries.
NOTE: Trademarks are intended to be used as nouns or adjectives – do not use any of the following marks as:
- verbs; i.e., “I HyperHEPA’d the house”
- plural nouns; i.e., “10 HealthPro Pluses”
- possessive; i.e., “The Atem’s sleek design”
