Ultrafine particles are smaller than 0.1 microns, make up about 90% of all airborne particles, and have been linked to heart attacks, strokes, asthma, and even cancer. IQAir filtration in the CleanZone 5000 Series is proven and certified to filter at least 99.5% of all particles down to 0.003 microns – the smallest particles that exist.

Viruses: 0.005 – 0.3 microns
Like bacteria, viruses are organisms that spread airborne diseases as mild as the common cold and as serious as severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) through coughs, sneezes and improperly maintained ventilation systems.
Tobacco Smoke: 0.01 – 1 micron
Sidestream smoke has higher concentrations of cancer-causing agents (carcinogens) than mainstream smoke. And, it has smaller particles than mainstream smoke, which make their way into the lungs and the body's cells more easily.
Soot: 0.01 – 0.3 microns
Long-term exposure to urban air pollution containing soot increases the risk of coronary heart disease, according to a major study published in New England Journal of Medicine in 2007.

Pet Dander: 0.1 – 25 microns
Pet dander is the old skin and fur that pets shed. Animal dander is very small and can become attached to your clothingeven if you do not own a pet. Dander can be found everywhere: floors, carpets, walls, furniture, bedding, even the ceilings. Pet dander is a known asthma and allergy trigger.
Dust Mites Allergens: 0.2 – 25 microns
House dust mites are considered to be the most common cause of asthma and allergic symptoms worldwide. Dust mites themselves do not cause an allergic reaction, however, their dung-pellets are an irritant to sensitive people and can cause breathing difficulties. They thrive in warm, humid, dark conditions such as mattresses, carpets, sheets, pillows, and upholstery.
Bacteria: 0.5 – 10 microns
People spread bacteria through the air when they cough and sneeze, transmitting respiratory diseases and triggering symptoms in asthma sufferers. Bacteria can also grow inside poorly maintained ventilation systems, which spread it into the circulating air.
Household Dust: 1 – 100 micron
Dust may worsen hay fever. Circulating outdoor air through a house by keeping doors and windows open, or at least slightly ajar, may reduce the risk of hay fever-causing dust. In colder climates, occupants seal even the smallest air gaps, and eliminate outside fresh air circulating inside the house. So it is essential to manage dust and airflow.

Mold Spores: 8 – 80 microns
Mold and fungus are commonly found in most homes and may be found in the air ducts of your heating/cooling system. They tend to float throughout the house, and form new colonies where they land. Fungus spores have been known to increase the chances of developing asthma.
Pollen: 10 – 100 microns
One of the most common allergens is pollen. It affects the nose, eyes, and mouth making it difficult to breathe. Most pollen that produces allergic reactions is from trees, grasses, and weeds.

The CleanZone 5100 features IQAir’s HyperHEPA air filtration technology, proven and certified to capture particles 100x smaller than what is captured by ordinary air filters. The CleanZone 5200, designed primarily for gas-phase control, also includes high-efficiency particle filtration. Both models include the IQAir high-efficiency PreMax 500 Filter Drum, eliminating micro-particles such as pollen, mold spores, and other contaminants.
Advanced particle filtration
IQAir’s CleanZone 5100 Series air purifier combines powerful, high-efficiency pre-filtration with up to 28 square meters of HyperHEPA filtration media, tested and certified to effectively filter harmful ultrafine pollution particles down to 0.003 microns in size with an efficiency of 99.5%. These tiny particles are 100 times smaller than what is filtered with ordinary air filtration technology and up to 10 times smaller than a typical virus.
Effective against chemicals
Activated bituminous-coal carbon in gas-phase cartridges blended with chemisorbers target volatile organic compounds in the air, including formaldehyde. IQAir activated carbon is complemented by pelletized aluminum oxide impregnated with potassium permanganate for powerful filtration of a wide spectrum of gases, odors, and chemicals.

IQAir CleanZone 5000 Series moves up to 2039 m3/h through its high-performance air filtration media. This extraordinary capacity is made possible by integrating a powerful fan into every CleanZone 5000 model, powerful enough to move large volumes of air through either HyperHEPA particle filters or broad-spectrum gas and odour filters.
Suitable for noise-sensitive environments such as libraries, laboratories, meeting rooms, offices, and public business areas, or anywhere else that demands the cleanest air without noise. The CleanZone 5000 is powerful, yet quiet, with 10 fan-speed settings to match the sound requirements of any indoor environment.
CleanZone 5100: Ultimate particle filtration
- After passing through the high-efficiency pre-filtration module, air is then drawn through 300 square feet (27.96m²) of advanced IQAir HyperHEPA filtration media, filtering any remaining particles with a total efficiency of 99.97% of all particles 0.3 microns or larger and 99.5% of all particles down to 0.003 microns.
