Volkswagen may have helped expose silent, invisible killer: outdoor air pollution

The Volkswagen scandal creates a public platform to expose the threat of air pollution in developed countries.

Dr. George Crisp explains, "Even in Australia, with our clear blue skies, outdoor air pollution accounts for more than 2 per cent of deaths, more than are caused by motor vehicle accidents. In Sydney alone, the costs have been calculated at about $4.5 billion annually." Read more on The Age.
