IQAir Systems Now Shipping with New “Red Label” Fans

In its continuous quest for air cleaning perfection, IQAir of Switzerland is proud to announce that all IQAir air cleaning systems now shipping in North America utilize a completely redesigned radial fan.

The new computer-designed fan runs under the term “red label” due to its distinctive red color. The flow optimized fan features a revolutionary 7-blade design, in contrast to the previous 11-blade design. The increased size and aerodynamic shape of the new fan blades results in an all-around performance boost. The new fan increases energy efficiency and air delivery at most fan speeds levels, while running even quieter than previous models.

Particularly speeds 2, 3, 4 and 5 benefit in terms of increased air delivery and lower noise. “Since these are speeds used most often by most users, the performance boost will be noticed by virtually every user,” says Frank Hammes, Director of Research & Development of the IQAir Group. IQAir will update the performance specifications of its air cleaners over the next few months to reflect the performance boost. For example, the IQAir HealthPro Plus, which is now specified to deliver 30, 60, 90, 120, 140 and 260 cfm on each of its six fan speeds, will in the future be specified to deliver 40, 70, 110, 140, 170, 260 cfm. At the moment, new customers will simply notice that the Certificate of Performance that comes with their air cleaner will tend to show better actual performance than specified performance.

With the new fans, the IQAir HealthPro Plus now achieves the following decibel reading (measured using the ISO 3744 LWA standard):

Speed Setting Air volume
(cubic feet per minute)
Noise level
(decibel)
Speed 1 40 cfm 43.6 db
Speed 2 70 cfm 51.0 db
Speed 3 110 cfm 58.0 db
Speed 4 140 cfm 61.9 db
Speed 5 170 cfm 64.6 db
Speed 6 260 cfm 71.9 db
